Lead Sheet Training Academy
Добавлен 22 июн 2012
The Lead Sheet Training Academy is at the forefront of training for those using lead or hard metals in the construction industry.
To deliver this training the LSTA operates from a state of the art, purpose-built training facility in East Peckham, Kent which is open six-days a week for most of the year. The training centre includes full scale training rigs and resources as well as providing a well-equipped environment in which to learn as it re-creates real-life situations. If suitable premises are available, we can also deliver basic courses in lead and hard metals at locations around the UK.
The centre is recognised as a CITB Approved Training Organisation. Our tutors are experienced trainers, holding qualifications in leadwork, hard metals and teaching, have experience of working on-site and are CITB-approved assessors. CITB grants are available to meet most course fees for employees of CITB-registered construction businesses.

Neat consistent bead. Well done!
Where are these associated films?
Nice bit of driving from me there😆
really tidy , but it looks slow ,, and thus expensive ,, still nice things do cost.
i love lead, and really enjoyed this short video as i have studied metallurgy for a long time
associated lead mills are criminals
Rough!
What about the water run off and lead polution
Fantastic video clip,
I had the great honour of working in Manchester with one of the UK's oldest local family plumbing company's J. Hemstocks Ltd. They were the original Manchester company that made the boiler's for the first train engine "The Rocket." They carry out all the Grade I & ll listed building's lead roof work's throughout the Northwest of England, the new lead work's they installed was absolutely exceptional.
lead roofing and contaminated water will to lead poisoning. what the fuck are they still doing? what is this the middle ages? what the fuck?
Everything on these wood core roll flat roofs can be bossed and when you know what your doing it's a hell of alot quicker also. You know your good when you can boss a flat bit of code6 into a 200x200mm open end box.
Love lead me
Love lead me
Lead good practice, Dump your boc bottled and buy your own from hobby weld, These boc bottles are a ripoff.
I learned to do this with just bossing and heating the lead....started off bursting the corners and needing to weld patches...by the end of the job i was able to dress the corners so that the corner was the thickest part of it :) white rubber mallet is better than a ball head for roll ends
Isnt lead in danger of being forbidden to use due to its toxicity?
lead pirce 1 kg
I am manufacturel want to sell lead. You can contact me my WhatsApp number 92 3167656608
Can you get safe potable collected rainwater from a lead roof?
I don't understand.. Isn't melting lead dangerous because of the fumes it creates? The guys in the video aren't even wearing masks.
👍
This is really interesting
.......craftmanship............
Where do you order lead from
Big up the Ewn firm 👌
Hi there can you tell me what seaming pliers you were using? Great video.
Lmaooo they should bend the waist while lifting lead
Does it also work with oxygen and propane?
I could show you how to do that properly
What is the title of the shown book?
what did they do before welding?
A steady hand, clean lead and the right flame is what's needed to achieve a nice consistent weld, bossing is something you can not rush it takes alot of skill to be able to boss corners up,i have seen alot try on site thinking they could do it easy and end up making a fool out of them selves lol the best part of the job is all that scrap lead from old buildings, churches ect,,a nice bonus at the end of the week on top of your wages😉👌
Amazing.
Isn’t it safer to use an solder iron to melt it together.
copperworks lol
How do I get on coarses
Please indicate the brand of the torch welding or a link to the store, thank you.
That is a model 0 kit, Get it from the welding Wearhouse. This bloke is also a cock.
Dildocraft ; ).. .Hard wood give better effect.. .
Why no soldering irons?
I spent many weeks at college trying to leadburn (weld) and I only wish I had achieved that kind of result. It is a difficult thing to master. You either have it or you don't. The instructor told me to whistle because it relaxes you. I got the whistling down to a fine art but not the welding.
Skill Builder try using a soldering iron. I can use a torch or iron. Ive done it for 32 years
I didn't have it, but I stuck at it and I'm getting there now anything can be taught if the person is willing to lern
Practice makes perfect,,,, lots of it !!! I used to do I bit but a mate of mine was shit hot at it and that's all he did , he came from a roofing background witch was handy and he knew exactly what I wanted. I could send him while I went fishing or shooting job done.

la près traduction est complètement débile
Lead sealant for pointing joints in brick work is a joke.
Hey do you have a idea how to produce xray lead glas/window ? I would be very thankful for some informations.
........it's one year ago I see. There was considerable lead in the CRT picture tubes of the old style TVs , 50% is the figure I've heard . Out of interest - crystal glass is also lead addition but likely lower percentage . it can be cut carefully while submerged in water using diamond blade angle grinder.
Code 5 length can't be any longer than 1.5metres. Anyone who use lead knows that. Not 2 metres. Jeezo
Chris Godfrey 1.5m if longer weld a expansion joint on it
You can do up to 2m with code 5 as long as it’s no more than 800mm in total girth.
Whats the reason why you can only go to a certain meter? If you made a box gutter 3m long what's the problem?
@@Sm17hy1 because of movement. Lead doesn’t stay still once it’s been installed into a box gutter and over time, it’s moves. The longer the sheet of lead you use, the more likely you’ll be for the lead to split, causing leaks.
and the poison ?
They have a respiratory system. Stop crying lul
Can anyone help me. It's for my son's homework. Would you use woolen gloves or latex gloves when working with lead
I don't wear gloves antill I'm oiling I know I should but I can't work in them
It never occurred to me to cast sheet-metal. Amazing! I wouldn't have believed it. The cast sheet doesn't look too bad, probably nothing like as uniform and smooth as the rolled sheet. The sand didn't look too burnt, wonder if they can just keep using it? And is it better or worse as roofing? Maybe related videos will tell! Thanks for some startling information. I don't think many people in the US know that lead CAN be welded, and here it's a recognized trade.
all old lead was cast
@Tony Samson it is welding, not solder.
@Tony Samson. Soldering (AmE: /ˈsɒdərɪŋ/, BrE: /ˈsoʊldərɪŋ/) is a process in which two or more items are joined together by melting and putting a filler metal (solder) into the joint, the filler metal having a lower melting point than the adjoining metal. Unlike welding, soldering does not involve melting the work pieces.
@@mlummas514 And just to confuse everyone even MORE <GRINS>, consider the term 'brazing' (which is very similar to soldering in that the base metal isn't heated enough to melt it, but the 'filler' is generally a 'brass-like' material rather than a lead based material)
We loved this video on HomemadeTools.net: www.homemadetools.net/forum/lead-sheet-casting-55830
I have just completed a 3 day lead welding course and use this video as a reminder of good practise.
There is no substitution for good leadwork. If your looking for a long term solution to flashings or guttering lead is recommended. It is however not a DIY skill and skilled lead workers make the difference.
